Wow

I've been pretty lazy, my apologies. After leaving Taos last Thursday, Feb 12, I took a 4 hour drive through north through the Rockies where I stayed with a friend living in Edwards, CO about 15 miles from Vail Village.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I certainly didn't plan on feeling violently ill the first two days of the trip. As it turns out, though, I didn't get to sky Friday or Saturday and instead just hung out, slamming Aiborne, multivitamins, and water. Got to ski Beaver Creek, Vail, Vail, and Copper Mountain in that order, leavin Wednesday to head out to Denver...

Stayed in Denver for a few days, until Saturday. Got in late Wednesday, basically pretty tired and mildly sick still, so I just checked out the 16th Street Mall, got some Jimmy Johns, and went to sleep. Just happy to be in a bed that didn't require an air pump....

Thursday I decided to make the drive up to Pikes Peak, which is a pretty recognizable landmark from the Denver skyline. Its outside of Colorado Springs, about an hour south of Denver, so I headed down there for the day to get some pictures and experience some more altitude sickness. The last 3 miles at the top were closed due to snow drifts on the road, so I couldn't get to the top. Apparently they don't want anyone sliding off of a 500ft drop due to the lack of guardrails at 12,000 feet.

After Pikes I went out to dinner and stayed with a friend who recently moved to Denver - had to get up early and take my car in to get the oil changed, tires rotated, and wonder why I had a check engine light on on a two month old car. As it turns out, there's a fuel pump problem, and its currently getting fixed at the shop while I slave away at Mardi Gras. More to come on that, if I can remember it...
